SB 318: Revises provisions relating to school safety. (BDR 34-281)

AN ACT relating to education; prescribing the duties of a threat assessment team established for a public school; requiring the Office for a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment of the Department of Education to perform certain duties related to school safety and security; requiring the designation of a school safety specialist for each school district and charter school in this State; requiring each school safety specialist to conduct an annual school security risk assessment and perform certain other duties; establishing programs to award grants for certain purposes related to school safety and security and mental health; requiring the board of trustees of each school district to provide for school resource officers at certain public schools; revising the contents of certain policies and plans relating to school safety and security; requiring the testing of emergency communications systems at a school; establishing certain programs to provide behavioral health services to children; requiring certain governmental entities to share information concerning certain at-risk children; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

SB 374: Revises provisions governing reclamation of mining operations and exploration projects. (BDR 46-1080)

AN ACT relating to reclamation; authorizing a county to charge and collect a fee for the maintenance of certain public roads; requiring the Governor or his or her designee to prepare an annual report concerning certain memoranda of understanding entered into with the Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service; excluding certain land from the definition of “small exploration project” and “small mining operation”; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AB 438: Revises provisions relating to time shares. (BDR 10-1094)

AN ACT relating to time shares; providing that a representative is subject to discipline for committing certain acts; providing that a representative may associate with, and receive compensation from, only one developer; prohibiting a representative from selling, trading or bartering prospects, leads, tours or customers with any other developer or with other representatives; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AB 375: Revises provisions governing birth certificates. (BDR 40-707)

AN ACT relating to birth certificates; allowing an adopted person to obtain a noncertified copy of his or her original certificate of birth in certain circumstances; requiring the State Registrar to unseal certain documents as required to produce such a noncertified copy of a certificate of birth; requiring the State Registrar to charge and collect a fee for providing such a document; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AN ACT relating to crimes; enacting the Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Act; prohibiting certain persons from manufacturing, selling, offering for sale, leasing or distributing a product that makes content accessible on the Internet unless certain requirements are met; providing for certain fees; establishing the Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Grant Fund; authorizing the imposition of a fine; providing a penalty; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AB 75: Revises provisions governing public employees' retirement. (BDR 23-466)

AN ACT relating to public employees' retirement; requiring the establishment of a hybrid retirement program for certain public employees; requiring the program to include a defined benefit plan and a defined contribution plan; setting forth the required provisions of each such plan; requiring certain public employers under certain circumstances to make additional contributions to the Public Employees' Retirement System to reduce the unfunded liability of the System; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AN ACT relating to mental health; requiring in most circumstances the informed consent of each parent or guardian who has legal custody of a child before certain services relating to mental health may be provided to the child; authorizing the provision of such services with the consent of one parent or guardian in certain circumstances; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AB 243: Revises provisions relating to victims of crime. (BDR 15-653)

AN ACT relating to victims of crime; increasing the minimum term of imprisonment to be served by certain persons who commit incest if the victim is less than 18 years of age; establishing provisions relating to certain notification given to the victim of a prisoner who has requested to receive notification that the prisoner is being considered for parole; requiring the State Board of Parole Commissioners to send an annual request for updated contact information to any such victim in certain circumstances; imposing certain residential requirements upon certain sex offenders under a program of lifetime supervision and certain parolees convicted of a sexual offense; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
