HR 6841: PEERS Act of 2025

The PEERS Act of 2025 requires Medicare to cover peer support services provided by certified specialists at community mental health centers, rural health clinics, and other specified facilities. It directly affects Medicare beneficiaries with mental health or substance use disorders who receive these services, and providers like community mental health centers that will now bill Medicare for this care. The bill defines peer support services as non-clinical assistance focused on recovery, community integration, and self-empowerment, delivered by individuals certified after recovering from similar conditions. Coverage begins January 1, 2027.

HR 6857: Protecting Students on Campus Act of 2025

HR 6857 requires all colleges and universities receiving federal funds to prominently display a link to the Department of Education’s civil rights complaint portal on their website homepage and to post annual Title VI awareness materials in high-traffic campus locations (like student centers) and on campus websites. The bill mandates these institutions to annually report discrimination complaints (based on race, color, or national origin) to the Department of Education’s Inspector General. It also requires the Department to provide monthly congressional briefings on complaint volumes and resolution timelines, while the Inspector General must audit institutions with the highest complaint rates and study why some complaints go to schools versus the federal office. This directly affects every federally funded higher education institution in the U.S. by changing how they handle and report civil rights complaints.

HR 6894: Increasing Access to Quality Cardiac Rehabilitation Care Act of 2025

This bill expands Medicare coverage for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs by allowing more healthcare providers to prescribe these services. HR 6895: Debt Solution and Accountability Act

HR 6895, the Debt Solution and Accountability Act, requires the Treasury Secretary to submit detailed reports to Congress before increasing the debt limit. These reports must include current and projected debt levels, drivers of future debt, plans to reduce debt growth (short, medium, and long-term), and analyses of how debt limit actions affect government spending, debt service, and the dollar's global role. The bill also mandates a progress report within 180 days after any debt limit increase or suspension, and requires public posting of all reports on Treasury's website for six months. Additionally, it grants congressional committees specific access to Treasury financial data upon request, including cash flow details and debt transaction information. HR 6809: Alyssa’s Act of 2025

Alyssa's Act of 2025 expands the Federal Clearinghouse on School Safety Evidence-based Practices to collect and analyze school safety data, including information on school shootings and emergency response effectiveness. HR 6086: Aviation Funding Solvency Act

Aviation Funding Solvency Act This bill provides continuing appropriations to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) if (1) an appropriations bill for the FAA has not been enacted before a fiscal year begins, or (2) a law making continuing appropriations for the FAA is not in effect. Specifically, the bill provides appropriations from the Aviation Insurance Revolving Fund at the rate of operations that was provided for the prior fiscal year to continue programs, projects, and activities that were funded in the preceding fiscal year. The FAA may use the balance of the fund, minus $1 billion. If the FAA determines that the amounts from the fund are insufficient to continue all programs, projects, or activities, then the FAA must prioritize compensation payments for employees of the Air Traffic Organization (e.g., air traffic controllers). The bill provides the appropriations until the date on which either (1) specified appropriations legislation for the fiscal year becomes law, or (2) a bill making continuing appropriations becomes law. Finally, the bill permanently extends the FAA Non-premium War Risk Insurance Program. This program provides aviation insurance without a premium to eligible air carriers at the request of the Department of Defense or another federal agency, provided that the agency agrees to indemnify the FAA from all losses covered under the insurance. Eligible air carriers include those whose operations are under a federal contract and are necessary for national security or to carry out U.S. foreign policy.

SRES 547: A resolution expressing unwavering support for the United States-Japan alliance in response to political, economic and military pressure by the People's Republic of China.

SRES 547 is a Senate resolution expressing strong support for the U.S.-Japan alliance amid recent tensions with China. It condemns China's economic, military, and diplomatic pressure on Japan - including actions like blocking cultural events, suspending trade, and naval incursions - and reaffirms the U.S. commitment to the security treaty covering the Senkaku Islands. The resolution commends Japan's stance against unilateral changes to regional stability, particularly regarding the Taiwan Strait, and supports Japan's increased defense spending to enhance regional deterrence. It directly affects U.S. diplomatic relations with Japan and China, reinforcing alliance unity without proposing new laws or funding.

S 3552: HAULS Act of 2025

This bill, the HAULS Act of 2025, modifies federal rules for transporting agricultural goods by removing seasonal restrictions on truck drivers. It eliminates the requirement that agricultural transport must occur "during planting and harvest periods" and expands the definition of "agricultural commodity" to include livestock (like fish and insects), nonprocessed animal products (milk, eggs, honey), and minimally processed fruits/vegetables. The change directly affects commercial drivers transporting these expanded categories of goods within a 150-mile radius of their source or destination. The key mechanism is the updated definition, requiring the Transportation Secretary to revise federal regulations within 180 days to include these new categories.

HR 6799: BRIDGE for Young-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease Act of 2025

This bill eliminates waiting periods for Social Security disability benefits and Medicare coverage for individuals diagnosed with young-onset Alzheimer's disease. It amends the Social Security Act to add "young-onset Alzheimer's" (as defined by the Social Security Commissioner) to the list of conditions qualifying for immediate disability benefits, removing a 5-month waiting period for applications filed after its enactment date. It also waives the standard 24-month waiting period for Medicare coverage when young-onset Alzheimer's is diagnosed, effective for benefits starting after the bill's enactment. These changes directly affect people with young-onset Alzheimer's seeking timely access to critical financial and health coverage.

HR 6823: To direct the Secretary of Defense to establish a pilot program to facilitate the development of certain traumatic brain injury diagnostics for members of the Armed Forces.

This bill establishes a pilot program (the Warfighter Traumatic Brain Injury Diagnostics Project) to support the development of new diagnostic tools for traumatic brain injury (TBI) among active-duty military members, particularly during deployments and combat. The program directs the Secretary of Defense to assess diagnostic technologies' ability to distinguish TBI severity, integrate with existing medical tools, and improve military readiness, while awarding grants to eligible research entities with priority for those with proven experience in TBI diagnostics. It authorizes $5 million annually (2026-2029) for research, development, and testing, requiring a congressional report on results and recommendations by 2029. The initiative directly affects service members with potential TBI, military medical providers, and research organizations developing diagnostic technologies for military use.
