Law Enforcement Training for Mental Health Crisis Response Act of 2021 This bill authorizes the Office of Justice Programs within the Department of Justice to award grants to law enforcement and corrections agencies for behavioral health crisis response training.

SRES 232: A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate that acts of violence against Jewish people in the United States and around the world and the poisonous rhetoric from politicians and others promoted by the media that has helped inspire such violence is condemnable and has no place in society.

This resolution addresses issues regarding Jews in the United States and anti-Israel rhetoric. Specifically, the Senate condemns hatred and violence against Jews; denounces the anti-Israel rhetoric of elected officials; rejects as biased, incomplete, and inaccurate information promulgated by the news media in the United States about Israel and the Israeli government's efforts to protect its citizens from terrorism; celebrates the contributions of American Jews to our nation, culture, values, and way of life; and reaffirms its intent to ensure that Jews in the United States are treated with dignity and respect and receive the full protection of the law owed to them as U.S. citizens.

S 1811: Increasing Access to Mental Health in Schools Act

Increasing Access to Mental Health in Schools Act This bill directs the Department of Education (ED) to establish a grant program and a student loan forgiveness program to increase the number of school-based mental health services providers in elementary and secondary schools. First, ED must award grants to partnerships between educational agencies and graduate institutions to increase the number of school-based mental health services providers employed by low-income local educational agencies (LEAs). Grant funds may be used for specified purposes, including to provide student loan forgiveness and tuition credits and to support recruitment, hiring, and training. In addition, ED must establish a program to provide student loan forgiveness for individuals who (1) are not, and have never been, participants in the grant program established by the bill; and (2) have been employed by low-income LEAs for five or more consecutive school years as mental health services providers.

S 1813: Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act

Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act This bill establishes grant programs to address neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease), and contains other related provisions. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) shall award grants to eligible entities to facilitate patients' access to investigational drugs that diagnose or treat ALS. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shall award grants to public and private entities to cover the costs of research and development of drugs that diagnose or treat ALS and other severely debilitating neurodegenerative diseases. HHS shall also establish the Public-Private Partnership for Neurodegenerative Diseases between the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, and at least one eligible entity (generally, an institution of higher education or a nonprofit organization). The partnership shall support the development and regulatory review of drugs that address ALS and other rare neurodegenerative diseases. The FDA shall publish on its website a five-year action plan for fostering the development of drugs that improve or extend the lives of people living with rare neurodegenerative diseases.

S 1800: Human-Animal Chimera Prohibition Act of 2021

Human-Animal Chimera Prohibition Act of 2021 This bill establishes new federal crimes related to conduct involving certain types of human-animal chimeras. The term human-animal chimera means an organism that, from an early stage of development, contains human and nonhuman parts. This bill makes is unlawful to create or attempt to create a prohibited human-animal chimera, transfer or attempt to transfer a human embryo into a nonhuman womb, transfer or attempt to transfer a nonhuman embryo into a human womb, or transport or receive for any purpose a prohibited human-animal chimera. A violator is subject to civil and criminal penalties.

Stop Cancel Culture from Degrading Honor Act This bill prohibits the rescission of a military decoration after 10 years have passed since it was awarded unless the award was based on fraud or other misinformation or the individual awarded the decoration is prohibited from interment memorialization in the National Cemetery Administration of the Department of Veterans Affairs or Arlington National Cemetery.

HR 3484: To prohibit States that implement programs to assist illegal immigrants from receiving Federal funds, and for other purposes.

This bill prohibits any program for which federal funds are appropriated on a discretionary basis from providing federal funds to a state that has implemented a program to provide assistance to individuals who are unlawfully present in the United States.

HR 3436: Direct Primary Care Accessibility Act of 2021

Direct Primary Care Accessibility Act of 2021 This bill exempts from federal regulation as health insurance coverage direct primary care arrangements under which a health care provider serves an individual in return for a direct fee, such as a membership fee or a fee for each service. These arrangements must include a written agreement that describes the specifics of the arrangement, including the items and services to be provided and the individual's payment obligation.

S 1736: Capital for Cooperatives Act

Capital for Cooperatives Act This bill eliminates the requirement that cooperatives provide a personal guarantee with respect to certain Small Business Administration (SBA) loans. It also requires the SBA, in collaboration with the Interagency Working Group on Cooperative Development, to develop recommendations and cooperate with federal agencies and other entities to promote, support, and increase the number of cooperatives.

S 1784: Contact Lens Prescription Verification Modernization Act

Contact Lens Prescription Verification Modernization Act This bill revises the requirements for the verification of prescriptions related to the purchase of contact lenses. Specifically, online sellers of prescription contact lenses must provide consumers with a method to transmit a digital copy of their prescriptions to such sellers. Online sellers also must encrypt protected health information they send by email. Additionally, the bill prohibits any seller of prescription contact lenses from using telephone calls with an artificial or prerecorded voice (i.e., robocalls) to verify a consumer's prescription.

S 1730: Retirement Savings Lost and Found Act of 2021

Retirement Savings Lost and Found Act of 2021 This bill establishes an online Retirement Savings Lost and Found (RSLF), managed by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), to assist individuals in locating certain employer-sponsored retirement accounts. The RSLF must provide plan participants or beneficiaries only with the ability to view contact information for the administrator of a plan that is sufficient to locate the plan. The bill sets forth additional reporting and notification requirements for retirement plans. The PBGC must take precautions to (1) safeguard the privacy and security of participants' plan information, and (2) permit plan participants to opt out of inclusion in the RSLF. The bill also revises provisions that permit mandatory distributions of the balances of small retirement accounts using a rollover into an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). The bill modifies the investment options available for the distributions and increases the maximum account balance that may be subject to such a distribution. A plan must transfer unclaimed mandatory distributions that are $1,000 or less to the RSLF, and the RSLF must pay the balance upon locating a plan participant or beneficiary.

Water Quality Certification Improvement Act of 2021 This bill limits the authority of states with respect to water quality certifications. Specifically, the bill limits the authority of states to review federally permitted activities that may result in discharges into navigable waters.
