SRES 823: A resolution to authorize testimony and representation in United States v. Groseclose.

This resolution authorizes (1) Daniel Schwager, a former employee of the Office of the Secretary of the Senate, and Nate Russell and Diego Torres, custodians of records in the Senate Recording Studio, to provide relevant testimony in the case of United States v. Groseclose , except concerning matters for which a privilege should be asserted; and (2) the Senate Legal Counsel to represent Schwager, Russell, and Torres, and any current or former officer or employee of their offices, in connection with this case.

HR 8956: FedRAMP Authorization Act

FedRAMP Authorization Act This bill provides statutory authority for the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) within the General Services Administration (GSA). The GSA must establish a government-wide program that provides the authoritative standardized approach to security assessment and authorization for cloud computing products and services that process unclassified information used by agencies. Agencies must ensure that their cloud computing services meet GSA requirements. The Government Accountability Office must report to Congress assessing the costs incurred by agencies and cloud service providers relating to the issuance of FedRAMP authorizations, the extent to which agencies have processes in place to continuously monitor the implementation of cloud computing products and services operating as federal information systems, how often and for which categories of products and services agencies use FedRAMP authorizations, and the unique costs and potential burdens incurred by cloud computing companies that are small business concerns as a part of the FedRAMP authorization process. The bill establishes the Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee.

HR 6889: Credit Union Board Modernization Act

Credit Union Board Modernization Act This bill revises the frequency of meetings required to be held by a credit union's board of directors. Specifically, the bill requires monthly meetings for new credit unions during their first five years and for credit unions with a low soundness rating. All other credit unions must hold at least six meetings annually, with at least one meeting held during each fiscal quarter. Currently, all credit union boards must meet at least once a month.

HR 9148: Simplifying Grants Act of 2022

Simplifying Grants Act of 2022 This bill sets forth procedures for simplifying the grant process for nonurbanized areas, for both existing and new grant programs. Each agency must make publicly available a checklist for covered local governments with respect to each grant program of the agency for which such governments are otherwise eligible that includes each requirement for every step of the grant process. The Office of Management and Budget must report to Congress (1) within 270 days of this bill's enactment, evaluating the extent to which agencies have simplified the requirements and made the checklist available; and (2) each April 1st, evaluating the amount of technical assistance provided and the amount of funds awarded.

HR 6899: Russia and Belarus SDR Exchange Prohibition Act of 2022

Russia and Belarus SDR Exchange Prohibition Act of 2022 This act prohibits the Department of the Treasury from engaging in any transaction involving the exchange of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) held by Russia or Belarus and requires Treasury to take actions to oppose financial assistance to Russia or Belarus. The SDR is an international reserve asset maintained by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) based on contributions from IMF member countries. SDRs may be exchanged between member countries and may also be exchanged for currencies. Treasury must also (1) vigorously advocate for IMF member countries to prohibit transactions involving the exchange of SDRs held by Russia or Belarus, and (2) direct U.S. representatives to each international financial institution to oppose providing financial assistance to Russia or Belarus except to address the basic human needs of their civilian populations. The act's provisions shall be in effect until the earlier of (1) five years after this act's enactment, or (2) 30 days after the President reports to Congress that the governments of Russia and Belarus have ceased destabilizing activities directed at Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The President may also waive the provisions upon reporting to Congress that doing so is in the national interest of the United States.

HR 9072: Humane Retirement Act

Humane Retirement Act This bill requires animal care committees at certain federal agencies conducting biomedical or behavioral research to make reasonable efforts to find parties to adopt dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs that have been retired from research. Prior to euthanizing, the animal care committee must assess the temperament of any such animal to determine whether it is suitable for adoption and, if so, make reasonable efforts to arrange for an adoption.

HRES 1268: Of inquiry directing the President to provide certain documents in the President's possession to the House of Representatives relating to actions taken by the Secretary of Health and Human Services related to the COVID-19 pandemic response.

This resolution directs the President to provide, within 14 days, certain information and documents that refer or relate to activities of the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) undertaken as part of the COVID-19 response. This includes matters concerning the number of in-person meetings attended by the Secretary and costs incurred as a result of the Secretary working from locations other than HHS headquarters.

S 5002: FDA Modernization Act 2.0

FDA Modernization Act 2.0 This bill authorizes the use of certain alternatives to animal testing, including cell-based assays and computer models, to obtain an exemption from the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the safety and effectiveness of a drug. The bill also removes a requirement to use animal studies as part of the process to obtain a license for a biological product that is biosimilar or interchangeable with another biological product.
