HB 187: PROP TAX-SENIOR EXEMPTION

Amends the Senior Citizens Homestead Exemption provisions in the Property Tax Code. Provides that the maximum amount to be reduced from the assessed value of the property is $2,500 in all counties (now, $2,500 in counties with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants and $2,000 in all other counties). Amends the State Mandates Act to restate that the Senior Citizens Homestead Exemption is exempt from the requirements of the State Mandates Act and further amends the Property Tax Code to state that the Senior Citizens Homestead Exemption is exempt from the requirements of the State Mandates Act. Effective immediately.

SB 1322: HEALTH FACILITIES-PUBLC HEALTH

Amends the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act and the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois to transfer from the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act to the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law language authorizing the Department of Public Health to assist communities and regions throughout the State to establish areawide health planning organizations. Amends the Health Care Worker Self-Referral Act to provide that, on and after the effective date of this amendatory Act, "Board" means the Illinois Department of Public Health (now, the Health Facilities Planning Board) and further amends the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act to repeal the provision giving rule-making authority for the Health Care Worker Self-Referral Act to the Health Facilities Planning Board. Effective immediately.

HB 3323: CONSUMER FRAUD-ELECTRIC-GAS

Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Makes subject to the requirements of the Act companies that market electricity, natural gas, telecommunications, or cable television services to retail consumers, regardless of whether those companies have rates filed with any federal, State, or local commission. Eliminates the filed rate doctrine as a defense to any action brought under the Act. Effective immediately.
