HB 3076: PLAT ACT-BISECTED PLAT

Provides that before a plat is recorded or registered it must be submitted to the County Clerk and the County Clerk must certify that no parcel contained within the plat is divided by any political subdivision or taxing district boundary, and that a plat may not be recorded or registered without that certification.

SB 3048: CD CIV PRO-VENUE-MED MAL

Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that every medical malpractice action must be commenced in the county where the medical care that is the subject of the cause of action took place. Effective July 1, 2004.

Amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Technology Act of 1985. Provides a time frame during which the Department of Professional Regulation may accept 10 years of cosmetology experience in lieu of specified requirements for licensure. Effective immediately.

HB 3276: NURSING HOMES-VACCINATIONS

Amends the Life Care Facilities Act and the Nursing Home Care Act. Provides for influenza and pneumonia vaccinations for residents of life care facilities and nursing homes. Provides immunity for a facility that administers the vaccinations except in cases of willful or wanton misconduct on behalf of the facility. Effective immediately.

SB 1491: MEDICAL CORPORATIONS-ASSISTANT

Amends the Medical Corporation Act. Requires officers, directors, and shareholders of medical corporations to be licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987, the Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987, the Podiatric Medical Practice Act of 1987, or, if an officer, director, or shareholder is an advanced practice nurse, the Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act (rather than the Medical Practice Act of 1987 only). Effective immediately.
