Equal COLA Act This bill revises the formula used to calculate the cost-of-living adjustment for annuities paid under the Federal Employees Retirement System.
SAFE Workers Act or the Secure And Fair Elections for Workers Act This bill requires the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to provide employees with the ability to vote remotely by telephone or the internet in union representation elections during the COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) public health emergency. The bill further permits the NLRB's use of appropriations to issue directives or regulations providing for electronic voting methods.
Medicare Sequester COVID Moratorium Act This bill continues to exempt Medicare from budget sequestration orders until the end of the public health emergency relating to COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019).
Officer Eugene Goodman Congressional Gold Medal Act This bill directs the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate to arrange for the presentation of a Congressional Gold Medal to U.S. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman for his actions to protect the Senate chamber during the security breach at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
This bill establishes in the legislative branch the National Commission on the Domestic Terrorist Attack Upon the United States Capitol. The commission shall (1) conduct an investigation of the relevant facts and circumstances relating to the attacks on the Capitol of January 6, 2021; (2) identify, review, and evaluate the causes of and the lessons learned from the attacks, relative to detecting, preventing, and responding to such kinds of attacks; and (3) report to Congress and the President.
This resolution requires a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner of the House of Representatives to wear a mask in the Capitol complex until it is no longer recommended to do so by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It also establishes a $1,000 fine for each violation of this requirement.
This resolution calls upon Vice President Michael R. Pence (1) to immediately use his powers under section 4 of the Twenty-fifth Amendment to convene and mobilize the principal officers of the executive departments to declare that the President is unable to successfully discharge the duties and powers of his office, and (2) to transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House notice that he will be immediately assuming the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Require USCP to Utilize Body-Worn Cameras Act This bill requires each uniformed officer of the U.S. Capitol Police whose job duties include interacting with the general public to use a body-worn camera and ensure it is activated while on duty. This requirement does not apply to an officer serving on a personal protection detail.
This resolution supports teaching climate change in schools and programs to increase public knowledge on the impacts that humans have on the climate.
This resolution censures Representative Mo Brooks for statements he made before and after the violence and property damage at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Public Service Appreciation Through Loan Forgiveness Act This bill requires the Department of Education (ED) to implement a partial student loan forgiveness reduction schedule and conduct awareness activities relating to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. Specifically, ED must implement a public service loan forgiveness reduction schedule to cancel principal and interest due on Federal Direct Loans based on the number of payments made by the borrower, develop informational materials relating to the eligibility requirements of the PSLF program, make the informational materials available on its website and conduct outreach to not-for-profit institutions and government organizations about the availability of these materials, and establish an online portal for borrowers to submit employment certification forms.
Protecting Federal Workers Act This bill nullifies certain executive orders concerning federal-employee collective bargaining, classifications, and training. Specifically, it rescinds orders and a memorandum that limit the use of unrestricted grants for union activity, specify objectives for agencies to negotiate collective-bargaining agreements and establish the Interagency Labor Relations Working Group, establish principles for the removal and discipline of federal employees and other personnel issues, prohibit government contractors and other entities from conducting specified workplace training related to race or sex, place certain executive agency positions under a new schedule in the excepted service instead of the competitive service, and delegate authority to the Secretary of Defense to exclude the Department of Defense from certain labor-relations requirements.
