CAMPAIGN FINANCE – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding the duties of political treasurers.

This bill updates Idaho campaign finance rules by clarifying the responsibilities of political treasurers for candidates and political committees. It requires treasurers to maintain separate checking accounts for campaign funds, keep detailed records of contributions and expenditures within seven days, and file all required reports. The legislation also specifies that campaign funds can only be invested in low-risk cash equivalents like certificates of deposit and must be preserved for at least one year after an election. These changes apply to all candidates and political committees subject to Idaho's campaign reporting requirements and take effect on July 1, 2026.
