HB 1806: RELATING TO FOOD DONATION.

Requires DOH to educate food establishments about liability protections. Expands liability protection for donors to include donations of food and similar donations made directly to needy persons. Authorizes the donation of expired food when the donor believes in good faith that the food remains fit for human consumption. (HB1806 HD1)

SB 2316: PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE X, SECTION 6, OF THE HAWAII STATE CONSTITUTION, TO MODIFY THE APPOINTMENT PROCESS FOR THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

SB 2757: RELATING TO HOUSING.

Extends the general excise tax exemption for certain affordable rental housing projects from June 30, 2022, to June 30, 2026. Removes the statutory cap for the exemption. Prohibits housing owners from refusing to lease a dwelling unit to a holder of a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program voucher or certificate of eligibility. (SB2757 HD1)

HB 2472: RELATING TO THE LOW-INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT.

Specifies that certain provisions of the Internal Revenue Code related to at-risk rules and deductions and to passive activity loss do not apply with respect to claims for the state low-income housing tax credit. Caps the state low-income housing tax credit at fifty per cent of the federal low-income housing tax credit. Takes effect on 07/01/2050. (SD1)

SB 2805: RELATING TO THE HAWAII CIVIL RIGHTS COMMISSION.

Authorizes the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission Executive Director, except for fair housing cases, to either issue a final conciliation demand that the respondent cease the unlawful discriminatory practice or dismiss a discrimination complaint and issue a notice of right to sue. (SB2805 HD1)

SB 2811: RELATING TO THE UNIFORM CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT.

Updates chapter 329, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to make it consistent with amendments in the federal Controlled Substances Act as required under section 329-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes and to be consistent with federal law, by allowing prescribing authorization of drugs which include buprenorphine and naloxone to patients undergoing "medically managed withdrawal", also known as "detoxification treatment" and "maintenance treatment" by practitioners who are properly registered.
