SB 3079: RELATING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Establishes an unspecified number of full-time equivalent lieutenant positions in the Kona unit of the sheriff division within the department of public safety. Appropriates funds for the initial six-month hiring period and for one-time costs for the purchase of position-related uniforms and equipment. Establishes statutory authorization of special duty employment, commonly referred to as special duty services, by deputy sheriffs. (SB3079 HD1)

SB 2070: RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Authorizes the Department of Education to convene an advisory committee to make recommendations to develop and implement a plan to teach digital citizenship and media literacy in grades kindergarten through twelve in public schools, including charter schools and Hawaiian language immersion schools. HB 1328: RELATING TO FILM AND DIGITAL MEDIA INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT.

Allows greater flexibility in conditions placed on eligibility requirements for the motion picture, digital media, and film production income tax credit. Amends the amount of the total tax credit that may be claimed per qualified production. Amends the annual aggregate cap placed on the amount of the tax credits that may be claimed by qualified productions. Takes effect on 7/1/2112. (SD1)

SB 2660: RELATING TO MEDICAL COVERAGE.

Expedites workers' compensation claims by firefighters by requiring the injured firefighter's private insurance to pay the costs of a controverted claim, subject to reimbursement upon a later finding that the claim is compensable. Requires reimbursement of up to 137 percent of the Medicare reimbursement rate for claims for certain specified types of cancer. (SB2660 HD1)

SB 2925: RELATING TO THE PRACTICE OF BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS.

Clarifies the licensing exemptions for certain individuals under certain conditions who provide behavior analysis services. Requires the Department of Education to create and implement a plan to provide Medicaid billable applied behavior analysis services to all students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder within the Department. Establishes reporting requirements. (SB2925 HD2)
