SB 3037: RELATING TO INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS.

Appropriates funds for the University of Hawaii, in collaboration with the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, to fund one or more programs sponsored or organized by the University of Hawaii community colleges or a four-year campus to implement international college experiences for Hawaii students enrolled at a University of Hawaii campus. SB 2955: RELATING TO ZERO-EMISSION VEHICLES.

Requires rental motor vehicle lessors with more than two hundred light duty passenger vehicles, to plan for the incorporation of at least fifty per cent of zero-emission vehicles into the lessor's fleet by 2030 and report information on all vehicles in the lessor's fleet to the Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Establishes a task force to develop a plan for incorporating zero-emission vehicles into the fleets of rental motor vehicle lessors operating in Hawaii. Appropriates funds for the task force. SB 2894: RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Requires the Department of Agriculture, in coordination with the Agribusiness Development Corporation, University of Hawaii System, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and Hawaii Food Industry Association, to conduct crop performance testing trials on state agricultural lands of Hawaii's most highly imported food crops. HB 2225: RELATING TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

Requires certain information technology projects to adhere to statewide information technology governance and be reviewed in a manner established by the Chief Information Officer for the information technology project. Provides the Chief Information Officer with full discretion to require independent verification and validation of information technology projects if certain criteria are met. Requires sponsoring departments or agencies requiring independent verification and validation of information technology projects to budget and pay for the verification and validation services. Gives the responsibility of procuring, administering, and managing independent verification and validation services to the chief information officer. Takes effect on 1/1/2050. (SD1)

SB 2113: RELATING TO ANIMALS.

Prohibits manufacturers and contract testing facilities in Hawaii from using animal test methods for the purpose of testing cosmetics or household products for which an alternative test method is available. Imposes a civil fine and authorizes the attorney general to seek injunctive relief and any other recovery of damages. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)

SB 2507: RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires the Department of Education (DOE) to develop and implement a statewide computer science curricula plan for public school students in K-12 and ensure each public high school offers at least one computer science course each school year.
