HB 1046: RELATING TO TAX RETURN PREPARERS.

Requires any tax preparer with a preparer tax identification number issued by the Internal Revenue Service to furnish the preparer's tax identification number on any return or claim for refund as required by the Department of Taxation. Authorizes the Department of Taxation to require preparer tax identification number disclosure on any form or document and provides penalties for failure to comply. Effective upon approval; provided that tax return preparers shall not be liable for penalties prior to January 1, 2020.

Prohibits the performance of incidental and supplemental work outside the scope of licensure by a specialty contractor on any project requiring the seal or stamp of a licensed structural engineer. HB 799: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Establishes a wind resistive device tax credit for the purchase and installation of wind resistive devices in a non-condominium residential dwelling. Requires the Insurance Commissioner to develop and determine the requirements for the wind resistive devices and to certify claims for the tax credit. (HB799 HD1)

HB 508: RELATING TO DNA COLLECTION FOR CERTAIN FELONY OFFENSES.

Requires persons arrested for felony sexual offenses to provide a DNA sample. Defines felony sexual offenses. Provides for the destruction of DNA samples and expungement of a DNA database profile when appropriate. Makes an appropriation for the costs of DNA collection and expungement. (HB508 HD1)
