SB 1385: RELATING TO THE KANEOHE BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL.

Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to provide administrative support to the Kaneohe Bay regional council. Requires that the chairperson be selected by the members on an annual and rotating basis. Requires the council to meet quarterly. Appropriates moneys to the Department for a 0.5 FTE staff position to assist the council during meetings. Effective 12/31/2050. (SD2)

SB 477: RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Allows the Department of Education to provide sexual abuse and sex trafficking prevention training to certain staff. Requires DOE to make available to certain staff explanatory information about protocols that DOE has approved for providing services to victims of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. (SD1)

SB 565: RELATING TO VISION ZERO.

Requires the Department of Transportation to implement a vision zero program in Hawaii by 7/1/2020. Establishes a goal of no traffic fatalities or serious injuries by 2030. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

SB 253: RELATING TO BROADBAND SERVICE.

Codifies the substantive provisions of Executive Order No. 1802, which requires all state agencies to: contract internet-related services only with internet service providers that demonstrate and contractually agree to support and practice net neutrality principles where all internet traffic is treated equally; and add contract language and provisions to state procurement requirements that suppliers of telecommunications, internet, broadband, and data communication services shall abide by net neutrality principles. Defines "net neutrality principles". Requires DCCA director to monitor net neutrality including broadband and internet access services. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)

SB 1243: RELATING TO NEWBORN HEARING SCREENING.

Amends the State newborn hearing screening program to mandate reporting of diagnostic audiologic evaluation results, improve hearing follow-up of infants, and update definitions and terminology. (SD1)
