SB 1014: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Amends the income tax credit for expenses for household and dependent care services necessary for gainful employment by increasing the taxpayer's applicable percentage of employment-related expenses and dollar limit on amounts creditable that constitute the tax credit. Requires the Department of Taxation to make annual adjustments for inflation to the adjusted gross income thresholds and dollar limits on amounts creditable. Applies to taxable years beginning after 12/31/2019. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

SB 586: RELATING TO SCHOOL IMPACT FEES.

Repeals the school impact fee exemptions for nonresidential development and housing subject to the transient accommodations tax when seeking development in a designated school impact district requiring county subdivision approval, county building permit, or condominium property regime approval of the project. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

HB 253: RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES.

Prohibits a person from intentionally or knowingly manufacturing, importing, installing, reinstalling, distributing, selling, or offering for sale any counterfeit supplemental restraint system component, nonfunctional airbag, or airbag that does not meet federal safety requirements with the intent that such device replace an airbag in any motor vehicle. Prohibits a person from intentionally or knowingly selling, offering for sale, installing, or reinstalling in a motor vehicle any device that causes the motor vehicle's diagnostic systems to fail to warn that the motor vehicle is equipped with a counterfeit supplemental restraint system component or nonfunctional airbag or that no airbag is installed, as applicable. SB 1259: RELATING TO MANDATORY VESSEL INSURANCE COVERAGE.

Requires owners of vessels originally manufactured at a length of 26 feet or more, or less than 26 feet if the vessel is grounded, who are required to be registered with the State or required to be documented by the United States Coast Guard, to obtain marine insurance. Specifies the type and minimum amount of marine insurance coverage required. Allows the Department of Land and Natural Resources to exempt certain transient vessels from the marine insurance requirement, under certain conditions. Authorizes the Department to adopt administrative rules concerning marine insurance. Takes effect 12/31/2050. (SD1)

SB 647: RELATING TO THE STATE CAPITOL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

Increases the membership of the state capitol management committee by including the lieutenant governor and the lieutenant governor's chief of staff. Prohibits the lieutenant governor from being represented on the committee by a designee. Requires the lieutenant governor to submit an annual report to the legislature. (SD1)

SB 334: RELATING TO ASSISTANCE ANIMALS.

Codifies the administrative rule definition of "assistance animal". Clarifies the type of verification an individual may provide to substantiate a reasonable accommodation request for a specific assistance animal. Specifies that possession of a vest or other distinguishing animal garment, tag, or registration document commonly purchased online and purporting to identify an animal as a service animal or assistance animal does not constitute valid verification of a disability-related need for an assistance animal. SB 382: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Amends the formula for the amount of transient accommodations tax to be collected from time shares by increasing the base on which time share occupancy is taxed from one-half of the gross daily maintenance fees paid by the owner and attributable to the time share unit to an amount equal to all of those fees. Effective 1/1/2020. (SD2)
