SB 666: RELATING TO AN AIRPORTS CORPORATION.

Establishes the Hawaii Airports Corporation (HAC)to assume the authority, functions, and duties of the DOT related to airports and aeronautics. Makes HAC subject to Chapters 103D and 104, HRS. Provides for project labor agreements. Appropriates funds for the transfer of functions from DOT to HAC. (SB666 HD2)

SB 387: RELATING TO TEACHER RENTAL HOUSING.

Authorizes HHFDC to assist DOE in developing teacher housing projects and contract or sponsor with any state department or agency. Appropriates funds for deposit into the Dwelling Unit Revolving Fund. Requires DOE to lease land and contract with private entities for the development, management, maintenance, or revitalization of teacher housing. Permits DOE to lease teacher housing to other eligible tenants if occupancy of teacher housing falls below 95 per cent. (SB387 HD1)

SB 550: RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.

Allows Public Utilities Commission members who are residents of a county other than the City and County of Honolulu to receive an allowance of $225 per day for expenses related to board, lodging, and incidental expenses and reimbursement for actual air travel expenses incurred in carrying out the members' duties. HB 378: RELATING TO FILIPINO VETERANS BURIAL ASSISTANCE.

Establishes the Filipino-American World War II veterans burial assistance special fund and appropriates funds for burial grants for qualifying Filipino-American World War II veterans to provide funeral and burial services and transportation of their remains to the Philippines. Takes effect 1/1/2050. (SD1)

SB 1077: RELATING TO HAWAII STATE AND CONTRACTED CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES.

Requires the Director of Public Safety, in the event of the death of an inmate who is in a state or contracted correctional facility, or death of a correctional facility or community correctional center employee, to provide a report to the Governor and Legislature with certain information regarding the death, subject to state and federal laws. Requires the collection and preservation of any human biological specimens if there is any indication of sexual assault leading to the death. (SB1077 HD2)
