HB 2491: RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSES.

This bill updates state laws regarding commercial driver's licenses to align with federal penalties for traffic violations. It directly affects professional drivers who operate large vehicles such as trucks and buses within the state. By adopting these federal standards, the legislation ensures that commercial drivers face consistent punishment for infractions like speeding or reckless driving, matching the consequences applied to other drivers. The change removes any previous differences in how commercial and non-commercial drivers are penalized for similar offenses.
