HB 645: RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION.

Changes the State's automatic deduction of the gross proceeds of a county's surcharge on state tax for mass transit to three per cent to reimburse the State for costs associated with handling of the county surcharge on state tax. Requires an annual report of the usage of surcharge accounts.

SB 958: RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOL INNOVATION GRANTS.

Establishes the public school innovation grants program to support school-level innovations; authorizes the board of education to administer the grants program; provides a funding mechanism for these grants; establishes a special fund.

HB 695: RELATING TO HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES.

Requires each licensed home and community-based case management agency to report to the Department on all referrals that were made by the agency, and to note in its report if any referral fee was paid to the agency, and the amount received for the referral. Requires the Department of Health to annually publish and revise a list of all licensed home and community-based case management agencies, including all information regarding referrals made to the agency and the amount paid to the agency for the referral, if any.

HB 538: RELATING TO HEALTH.

Requires the Department of Health to: (1) charge and collect fees for the licensing, relicensing, certification, and recertification of community care facilities; and (2) submit a report to the Legislature prior to the 2018 Regular Session on implementation of the fees.

SB 878: RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

Requires the chief election officer, with the assistance from the county clerks for elections involving county offices and countywide ballot issues, to publish and disseminate a voters' pamphlet. Appropriates moneys to allow the chief election officer to produce and distribute a voters' pamphlet for each election.

HB 502: RELATING TO KAENA POINT.

Appropriates funds to the department of land and natural resources for additional enforcement officers and on-site educational staff for Kaena point state park and Kaena point natural area reserve to provide full-time coverage and monitoring.

HB 703: RELATING TO FORENSIC IDENTIFICATION.

Requires DNA samples from a felony offender regardless of whether the offender completed a criminal sentence, or was otherwise discharged from the jurisdiction of the court, for the qualifying felony offense prior to July 1, 2017.
