HB 24: RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Requires the Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii to develop procedures for the full utilization of university facilities. Requires the administration of the different UH campuses to collect and report data relating to facilities utilization. Prohibits the UH Board of Regents from approving the construction of a new university building until a public hearing is held to discuss facility utilization and cost.

SB 20: RELATING TO CHILD CARE.

Requires operators of child care facilities, including family child care homes, group child care centers, group child care homes, and infant and toddler child care centers that care for children one year of age or younger to implement and maintain safe sleep policies to prevent sudden unexpected infant deaths and sudden infant death syndrome in accordance with rules adopted by the Department of Human Services.

HB 978: RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION.

Permits an injured employee to designate a chaperone to be present during workers' compensation medical exams and, with all parties' consent, to record exams. Specifies that a chaperone is included in the existing prohibition on employee refusal or disruption of medical exams. (HB978 HD1)

HB 1387: RELATING TO PROCUREMENT.

Requires a responsive bidder for a construction or design-build project to submit financial and accounting books and records detailing financial activity and earnings before receiving state funding. Requires agencies to audit any person's books and records relating to the cost or pricing data of goods, services, and construction.

HB 1313: RELATING TO HEALTH.

Appropriates funds for the purchase and operational costs of one ambulance unit for the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services division of the City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Services for use in Ewa Beach. Appropriates additional funds for rent and other associated costs for an emergency medical services station in Ewa Beach.
