SB 896: RELATING TO THE POWER OF ARREST.

Updates the list of federal agencies whose officers may make arrests for certain offenses under state law by adding the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and removing the Citizenship and Immigration Services from the list. Adds proper titles of the heads of the district offices for the listed federal agencies.

SB 278: RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR.

Exempts the appointment and removal of an administrator of a liquor commission from civil service laws and requires the appointment to be subject to the advice and consent of the legislative body of the county. Allows the commission to issue a temporary license when the applicant or the transferor or transferee, in the case of a transfer of a license, is actively challenging a tax assessment, penalty, or other proceeding that prevents the issuance of a signed certificate from the appropriate federal or state tax agency. Limits the criminal history record check requirements for applicants of liquor licenses who are corporations or other entity to those persons with management or operational authority over the liquor-related operations. Allows, rather than requires, any investigator or other employee of the liquor commission to be represented and defended in any criminal or civil cause of action arising out of an action done as part of the investigator's or other employee's duty by certain specified counsel.

HB 332: RELATING TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING.

Establishes the right for a representative of each county council to be present as a non-voting participant in negotiations with bargaining units if the relevant county has employees in the particular bargaining unit. Requires the mayor or mayor's representative to provide timely updates relating to bargaining unit negotiations to the county councils. Amends the number of votes allotted to the Governor for collective bargaining negotiations with units (11) and (12).

HB 72: RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Establishes the Legislative Division within the AG to provide legal services to the Legislature. Requires the AG to submit a report to the Legislature on the progress of implementing the Division, its projected outcomes, and recommendations to amend the organizational structure of the AG. Makes an appropriation.

HB 422: RELATING TO SELECTIVE SERVICE.

Requires compliance with the Military Selective Service Act to be eligible for enrollment in a state-supported post-secondary institution, qualify for state financial assistance for post-secondary education, or be eligible for state or county employment or service. Provides exceptions. (HB422 HD1)

HB 546: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Authorizes counties to levy a county surcharge on transient accommodations tax to fund workforce housing development in their respective counties. Establishes a workforce housing development trust fund.

SB 222: RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX.

Exempts gross receipts from the sale of mobility enhancing equipment, durable medical equipment, prosthetic devices, prescription drugs sold pursuant to a doctor's prescription, diabetic supplies, medical oxygen, and human blood and its derivatives from the general excise tax. Amends the definition of "prosthetic device" to include devices worn on the body. Amends the definition of "prescription drugs". (SD1)
