HB 983: RELATING TO CHILD VISITATION.

Amends the guidelines for the court to consider in awarding reasonable visitation rights to a grandparent or the grandparents of a minor child. Clarifies procedures for an order awarding reasonable visitation rights to grandparents and that a violation of the terms and conditions of such an order is subject to sanctions or contempt of court. HB 1557: RELATING TO PUBLIC HOUSING.

Establishes a Family Self-Sufficiency Program to provide matching funds to enable tenants of certain public housing dwelling units to purchase housing units. Authorizes the Hawaii Public Housing Authority to impose maximum rental periods and conditions of tenancy for tenants participating in the Family-Self Sufficiency Program. Amends general tenancy termination requirements, selection priorities and minimum rents for HPHA housing projects. Appropriates funds.

HB 808: RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION.

Requires the director of labor and industrial relations to set workers' compensation medical charges that correspond to the United States Department of Labor Office of Workers' Compensation Programs fee schedule instead of the Medicare Resource Based Relative Value Scale applicable to Hawaii. Requires the department of labor and industrial relations to submit a report to the legislature. Makes an appropriation for analysis of the Act's impact on injured worker's access to treatment. Repeals on 12/31/2024.

HB 3: RELATING TO ANIMALS.

Requires a research facility that intends to euthanize a dog or cat for any purpose other than scientific, medical, or educational research to make that animal available for adoption prior to euthanizing the animal if the animal is suitable for adoption.

HB 315: RELATING TO COMMUNITY MEETINGS.

Amends conditions under which two or more members of a board may attend an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to official board business. Allows members of a county council to attend such meetings or presentations without limitation on the number of attendees.
