HB 602: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Amends the cesspool upgrade, conversion, or connection income tax credit by: (1) deleting the residential large capacity cesspool certification pilot program; and (2) expanding the definition of "qualified cesspool" to include cesspools that are certified for connection to an existing sewer system.

HB 169: RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Establishes a working group in the Department of Human Services to solicit donations and services and to assist in the regulation and development of policies relating to the Next Step Shelter facility and its residents. Requires the working group to submit a report to the Legislature prior to the 2018 Regular Session. Appropriates funds for the working group. (HB169 HD1)

HB 624: RELATING TO THE INSTALLATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE.

Clarifies the telecommunication exemptions to include small wireless and wireline facilities. Repeals and codifies in the Hawaii Revised Statutes provisions of Act 151, SLH 2011, that are permanent and general. Expands the definition of "wireless communications" antennas to include small wireless or wireline facilities. (HB624 HD1)

SB 273: RELATING TO FUEL TAXES.

Permits the county of Hawaii to appropriate the county's share of fuel tax revenue for the maintenance of substandard private subdivision roads that are used by the public. Provides that neither the State nor the county shall be required to install infrastructure improvements if the roads are thereafter sold to a private entity. Sunsets 6/30/22.

HB 1206: RELATING TO THE HAWAII LABOR RELATIONS BOARD.

Allows the Hawaii Labor Relations Board (Board) to request parties appearing before the board to submit proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law and a draft decision on any motion or issue of law.

HB 229: RELATING TO SINGLE-FAMILY DETACHED DWELLINGS.

Prohibits the State and counties from adopting building codes that require minimum gross floor space, minimum area of habitable space, or minimum room size, unless necessary to meet fire and life safety or environmental purposes or standards. (HB229 HD1)
