SB 418: RELATING TO THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE RECYCLING FUND.

Clarifies purposes for which moneys from the electronic device recycling fund may be expended. Makes an appropriation as a grant-in-aid to the counties of Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui for expenses related to the collection services associated with handling and collecting electronic devices for recycling. HB 1043: RELATING TO ENERGY ASSURANCE.

Addresses deficiencies in Hawaii's fuel shortage response and energy emergency (energy assurance) statutes; provides policy guidance on preparing for, responding to, recovering from, and mitigating against any actual or potential energy supply disruption or shortage to preserve the State's energy security and to ensure that fuel products and energy resources are made available to emergency services and the public in an orderly, efficient, and safe manner. SB 766: RELATING TO THE PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL SPACE CENTER FOR EXPLORATION SYSTEMS.

Establishes an excise tax on basalt cinder and trap rock sold by wholesalers or dealers. Provides that the excise tax is paid into the Pacific international space center for exploration systems special fund. Requires moneys in excess of $1,000,000 in the Pacific international space center for exploration systems special fund to lapse to the general fund.

HB 572: RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Repeals provisions that established the start and end dates of a limited time period for claiming the tax credit. Includes costs of land preparation and soil restoration on former plantation lands that have been unused for more than five years as qualified costs to claim the tax credit. (HB572 HD1)

SB 237: RELATING TO BIOFUELS.

Requires the department of business, economic development, and tourism to establish a two-year advanced biofuels pilot project to expand the use of biofuels in achieving the goal of 100 percent clean energy dependence by 2045. Requires a report to the legislature prior to the Regular Session of 2019. Makes an appropriation. (SD1)
