Increases the maximum detachable ammunition magazine capacity for pistols that may be manufactured, possessed, sold, bartered, traded, gifted, transferred, or acquired.

SB 134: RELATING TO AUTOMATIC VOTER REGISTRATION.

Establishes automatic voter registration upon application for a driver's license or civil identification card, except when an applicant affirmatively declines on an application to register to vote. Requires the examiner of drivers to electronically transmit to the Office of Elections certain information associated with currently registered and newly registered voters. Requires accessibility of certain databases maintained or operated by the Department of Transportation or the counties.

HB 283: RELATING TO SEX OFFENDERS.

Prohibits sex offenders from residing within 1,000 feet of a public or private school, child care facility, playground, or park where children may gather.

HB 191: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Provides to a taxpayer who hires an individual with a disability a nonrefundable tax credit for the 6-month period after the individual is initially hired by the taxpayer.

SB 168: RELATING TO MINIMUM WAGE.

Allows counties to set their own minimum wage at a rate that is higher than the state minimum wage rate. Increases the minimum wage in the State to $15 per hour beginning 1/1/2020. Authorizes the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to annually adjust the minimum hourly wage rate in accordance with the Honolulu Region Consumer Price Index beginning on 1/1/2021.

HB 29: RELATED TO TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS.

Requires members in planned community associations subject to HRS 421J and unit owners in condominiums subject to HRS 514B to register units leased as transient accommodations. Requires associations to submit annual reports to county planning departments and Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT). Requires DBEDT to submit annual reports to the Legislature.

HB 498: RELATING TO FIREWORKS.

Requires shippers that have knowledge of cargo entering the State or being shipped between counties and containing fireworks to report the cargo to the applicable county fire department. Authorizes the applicable county fire department to inspect shipments containing fireworks or articles pyrotechnic.
