SB 962: RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT.

Requires that each fiscal year all departments, agencies, and other instrumentalities of the State identify positions that have been vacant for five or more years and eliminate those positions from their budget request for the next fiscal year.

SB 888: RELATING TO COFFEE LABELING.

Requires coffee blend labels to disclose regional origins and percent by weight of the blended coffees. Prohibits using geographic origins of coffee in labeling or advertising for roasted or instant coffee that contains less than 51 percent coffee by weight from that geographic origin.

SB 465: RELATING TO ELECTRONIC EAVESDROPPING.

Prohibits the State and its political subdivisions from collecting or using a person's electronic data or metadata by means of a cell site simulator device, except under certain conditions. Prohibits the installation and use of a cell site simulator device without a court order. Specifies conditions when a cell site simulator device may be used. Specifies procedures for application and issuance of an order for a cell site simulator device. Specifies reporting requirements related to cell site simulator device applications.

SB 968: RELATING TO CARGO INSPECTIONS.

Authorizes Department of Public Safety to inspect shipping containers for illegal fireworks and explosives. Establishes a shipping container inspection program using explosive-sniffing dogs and associated special fund. Authorizes Department of Transportation to impose shipping container import fees. Increases fine for fireworks violations.
