HB 1474: RELATING TO HEALTH.

Authorizes individual personal caregivers providing in-home care services to be exempt from licensure under certain conditions, including being supervised by a registered nurse. Requires supervising registered nurses to complete certain training and make reports to the department of health.

HB 1258: RELATING TO HEALTH.

Requires medicaid and insurance coverage of ambulance services. Authorizes medicaid programs, and requires private insurers, to pay for ambulance services, even if the patient is not transported, if the patient was treated in a county with a population of 200,000 or more. Appropriates moneys for medicaid to cover ambulance services when a patient is not transported. Appropriates funds for ambulance services covered by medicaid.

HB 1385: RELATING TO THE HAWAII SCIENTIST-TO-TEACHER PATHWAY PILOT PROGRAM.

Requires the Department of Education to establish a 5-year Hawaii Scientist-to-Teacher Pathway Pilot Program to recruit, train, support, and retain qualified science, technology, engineering, and mathematics professionals as kindergarten through grade twelve teachers of those subjects in the State. Appropriates funds.

HB 1299: RELATING TO DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES.

Clarifies that any person that offers free or reduced rate shipping to a consumer in another state but who refuses to honor that shipping offer to a consumer in Hawaii has engaged in an act that is unfair and deceptive under certain conditions. Extends remedies.
