SB 1306: RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND TOURISM.

Establishes and funds a State Public-Private Partnership Coordinator position within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to manage public-private partnerships entered into by the State and associated contracts, proposals, and negotiations, except public-private partnerships entered into by the Hawaii Public Housing Authority. SB 1086: RELATING TO THE MOTION PICTURE, DIGITAL MEDIA, AND FILM PRODUCTION INCOME TAX CREDIT.

Amends the Motion Picture, Digital Media, and Film Production Income Tax Credit by providing additional tax credit options for payroll costs and 35 percent of qualified production costs for qualified productions employing local workers in a county with a population of 700,000 or less; permitting the option of offering the State an alternative marketing opportunity; adding new verification and reporting requirements; and extending the repeal of the tax credit until January 1, 2024. HB 1200: MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY AND PLANS FOR A SWIM AREA IN POHOIKI.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Land and Natural Resources to conduct a feasibility study to determine the best means to provide a Pohoiki swimming area and develop plans, in cooperation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, County of Hawaii, and any stakeholders, for a safe swim area. HB 604: RELATING TO LANDSCAPING.

Requires the department of agriculture, in consultation with the department of health, to create and maintain a list of plants and landscaping-related structures or equipment that are known to be preferred habitats for mosquito breeding and prohibits use of these elements in public landscaping. Exempts routinely maintained botanical gardens. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)
