HB 699: RELATING TO THE HAWAII PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY.

Allows the Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA) to evict a tenant convicted of a felony committed during the term of the tenancy and related to the HPHA's property or funds or its employees and their property. (HB699 CD1)

HB 914: RELATING TO THE HAWAII LABOR RELATIONS BOARD.

Clarifies that the party seeking review of a decision and order of the Hawaii Labor Relations Board (HLRB) shall bear the cost of preparing a transcript, except as provided by law, in which case HLRB shall bear the cost of preparing the transcript. (HB914 CD1)

HB 68: RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION.

Prohibits a merchant in the State from adopting a warranty policy that requires a purchaser to pay an additional fee to obtain a repair, replacement, or refund for goods returned pursuant to the warranty. (SD1)

HB 390: RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION.

Makes permanent Act 172, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017, which: (1) grants employees the right to have a chaperone present during a medical examination relating to a workers' compensation work injury and, with the approval of the examining physician or surgeon, to record the examination; and (2) provides that if an employee or employee's chaperone obstructs the medical examination, the employee's right to worker's compensation shall be suspended until the refusal or obstruction ceases. Effective 6/29/2019. (SD2)

HB 157: RELATING TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING.

Expands the types of employee information government agencies must disclose, upon written request, to employee exclusive representatives. Requires that information regarding new hire employees under collective bargaining disclosure requirements be provided to the appropriate exclusive representatives within two payroll periods. HB 665: RELATING TO THE ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM.

Specifies that a health care provider shall not be required to consult the electronic prescription accountability system for patients when the prescription will be directly administered under the supervision of a health care provider, provided that the system is consulted when the patients are initially admitted at a hospital, for patients in post-operative care with a prescription limited to a three-day supply, or for patients with a terminal disease receiving hospice or other palliative care. SB 991: RELATING TO TELECOMMUNICATIONS.

Caps annual utility rate increases without PUC approval for counties with a population of less than 500,000. Provides telecommunications service providers with flexibility from certain regulatory oversight requirements including issuance of securities and other evidences of indebtedness, and sales or disposition of property or equipment, if the utility is providing fully competitive retail services and specific conditions are met. Specifies other requirements related to flexibility for telecommunications service providers. (CD1)
