SB 552: RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Revives for one year specified sections of the repealed chapter 514A, HRS, to allow developers whose condominium property regimes were issued an effective date pursuant to sections 514A-40 and 514A-41, HRS, to update their public reports without revising any of the associated documents and have their public reports and disclosure abstracts treated as non-expiring developer's public reports under part IV of chapter 514B, HRS. Clarifies that requirements regarding filing of public reports do not apply to duly registered time share projects under certain conditions. (CD1)

SB 980: RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Defines, for the purpose of compulsory education, a private school to be an education institution that teaches kindergarten through grade twelve and that is licensed or accredited by specified licensing or accrediting organizations. Effective 7/1/2020. (CD1)

HB 808: RELATING TO SHARK AND RAY PROTECTION.

Expands the existing prohibition on knowingly capturing or killing a manta ray in state marine waters to apply to all rays and to also include knowingly taking, possessing, abusing, or entangling a ray. Provides certain exemptions. (HB808 CD1)

SB 1360: RELATING TO TAXATION.

Requires partnerships, estates, and trusts to withhold taxes on the income of nonresident partners and beneficiaries. Exempts publicly traded partnerships. (SB1360 HD1)

HB 336: RELATING TO HAWAII STATE AND CONTRACTED CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES.

Requires the Director of Public Safety, in the event of the death of an inmate who is in a state or contracted correctional facility, or death of a correctional facility or community correctional center employee, to report to the Governor, who shall then report to the Legislature, certain information regarding the death, subject to state and federal laws. Requires the Department of Public Safety to preserve any forensic evidence consisting of human biological specimens if there is any indication of sexual assault leading to the death. (SD2)

SB 225: RELATING TO OCULARISTS.

Specifies that a certified ocularist, certified by a nationally recognized ocularistry certifying board, may perform duties within the scope of that certification. (CD1)

HB 66: RELATING TO ATHLETE AGENTS.

Repeals the existing Uniform Athlete Agents Act and replaces it with the Revised Uniform Athlete Agents Act, which applies to certain financial advisers and makes other changes to the Uniform Act to increase effectiveness and enforceability. (HB66 CD1)
