HR 399 creates a temporary House Study Committee to examine the use of pavement markings on one-way streets in Georgia. The committee will study whether such markings (like painted lines) could improve safety for drivers unfamiliar with routes or distracted by navigation systems, reduce wrong-way travel, and determine best practices for implementation. It does not enact new laws or requirements but will recommend potential future legislation after its study. The committee, composed of five House members, the transportation commissioner, and the highway safety director, must report its findings by December 1, 2025.

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Chapter 1 of Title 32 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to highways, bridges, and ferries, so as to authorize the construction or maintenance of roads upon military bases or installations by the Department of Transportation when done so through agreement with and when paid for by the United States Department of Defense or other federal entity; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
