This resolution honors Andrew "Drew" Keith Slay, a University of West Georgia art student who died in a 2023 traffic accident, by dedicating a bridge on State Route 8CO over I-20 in Douglas County as the "Andrew 'Drew' Keith Slay Memorial Bridge." The bill directs Georgia's Department of Transportation to erect and maintain signs identifying the bridge with this name. It does not create new policies or affect regulations; it solely commemorates an individual through a permanent public naming. This resolution proposes dedicating the intersection of State Route 92 and Sweetwater Church Road in Paulding County as the "Zander Trayvon Whatley Memorial Intersection" to honor an 11-year-old boy who died tragically in 2024.
