Homestead Exemptions; Revising the circumstances under which a person may be deemed to have legal or beneficial and equitable title to certain property for homestead exemption purposes, etc.
Domestic Animals; Requiring the Department of Law Enforcement to post on its website specified information relating to each individual convicted of specified animal cruelty offenses; extending the timeframe for which a consumer may pursue remedies for the sale of an animal certifiably unfit for purchase; requiring a pet dealer to provide copies of specified medical records to a consumer; requiring the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to develop a list of best management practices for adoption and implementation, etc.
One-cent Piece; Defining the term “cash”; authorizing dealers to round to the nearest nickel in certain circumstances; providing that rounding to the nearest nickel is not a deceptive and unfair trade practice in certain circumstances; requiring that certain cash payments be made in the full amount due or rounded in a specified manner in certain circumstances, etc.
Data Centers; Specifying that local governments maintain authority to exercise power and responsibility over comprehensive planning and land development regulations relating to large load customers; requiring public utilities to provide certain minimum tariff and service requirements for large load customers; prohibiting the governing board of a water management district or the Department of Environmental Protection from issuing a permit for the consumptive use of water to a large-scale data center under certain circumstances; requiring the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability to contract for a study relating to the construction and operation of large-scale data centers, etc.
Establishing the Congressional Districts of the State; Redistricting the state’s congressional districts in accordance with the United States Decennial Census of 2020 (plan EOGPCRP2026); providing for applicability of the act, etc.
Security Services at Places of Worship; Providing an exemption from licensure requirements for certain volunteers who provide armed security services for places of worship, etc.
Newborn Screenings; Citing this act as “Mattie’s Law”; requiring that newborns, beginning on a specified date, be screened for biliary atresia; requiring the Department of Health to consult with the Genetics and Newborn Screening Advisory Council before adopting certain rules; requiring hospitals that provide birthing services to screen for biliary atresia in a specified manner, etc.
Public Records/Commission on Ethics; Providing an exemption from public records requirements for information received by the commission or derived from its investigations; providing for future legislative review and repeal of the exemption; providing a statement of public necessity, etc.
Veteran Benefit Payments to Minor Clients; Authorizing the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Health, or the Agency for Persons with Disabilities to access certain benefit payments for specified purposes; prohibiting the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Health, or the Agency for Persons with Disabilities from supplanting certain financial assistance, etc.
