Dental Health; Authorizes licensed dentist to order physical impression materials for self-administration by a patient for a specified purpose.
OGSR/Servicemembers and Families; Removes requirement that servicemember submit written statement that reasonable efforts have been made to protect information in order to claim exemption; provides for future legislative review & repeal; provides statement of public necessity.
Law Enforcement and Correctional Officers; Revises definitions of "correctional officer" & "law enforcement officer" to include persons employed part time; specifies allegation of misconduct may originate from any source.
Firefighters' Bill of Rights; Requires witnesses be interviewed & information be provided to firefighter before interrogation is conducted; authorizes firefighter to provide voluntary statement at any time after being informed of certain right; prohibits firefighter from being threatened during interrogation; requires copy of interrogation be provided to firefighter within specified timeframe, upon request; requires that firefighter be notified & provided certain information before certain disciplinary actions are taken & given opportunity to address certain findings.
Lottery Games; Prohibits electronic device from being used to play any lottery game; prohibits DOL from authorizing operation of specified lottery game; requires DOL to include specified warning in all advertisements & promotions of lottery games; requires contracts between DOL & vendor to require vendor to print specified warning on all lottery tickets.
Fees/Petition for Nonbinding Arbitration; Requiring that certain fees relating to nonbinding arbitration be paid to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation; requiring the prevailing party in nonbinding arbitration to recover certain costs and fees, etc.
Inspectors General; Revising the Chief Inspector General’s subpoena authority to include issuing and serving subpoenas for all executive branch agencies; providing that agency inspectors general report to the Chief Inspector General; removing an agency head’s supervisory authority over the agency inspector general; authorizing the inspector general to present written objections to such removal or transfer to additional officers within a certain timeframe, etc.
Utility Construction Contracting Services; Prohibiting public utilities or electric utilities from engaging in construction contracting services, from providing affiliates or utility contractors with certain products or services related to construction contracting, and from using or allowing affiliates or utility contractors to use certain identifying information related to the utility to engage in construction contracting services, etc.
Whistleblower’s Act; Revising the actions that an agency or independent contractor is prohibited from taking against an employee who participates in protected activity or discloses certain information; specifying that whistleblower remedies and protections do not apply to certain persons; revising applicability of provisions relating to investigative procedures upon receipt of whistleblower information; revising investigative procedures in response to retaliatory actions, etc.
Renouncing Democratic Socialism; Renouncing democratic socialism in favor of the true American values of individual liberty and democracy, etc.
Mobile Home Parks; Revising the duties of the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation relating to mobile home parks; revising requirements relating to the delivery of a prospectus; revising disclosures that must be contained in a prospectus or offering circular; prohibiting a court or arbitrators from considering certain mobile home parks when determining market rent; requiring homeowners’ associations to notify park owners upon the election or appointment of new officers or members, etc.
Prohibited Discrimination; Citing this act as the "Florida Competitive Workforce Act"; adding sexual orientation and gender identity as impermissible grounds for discrimination in public lodging establishments and public food service establishments; providing an exception for constitutionally protected free exercise of religion, etc.
