Residential Living Arrangements; Provides purpose & duties of community residence; requires that community residence be licensed or certified, or operate pursuant to charter from entity recognized or sanctioned by Congress; authorizes local government to revoke or nullify siting approval of community residence; provides spacing distance requirements for siting of community residence; requires local government to authorize reasonable accommodation for certain proposed community residences if specified requirements are met; requires sponsoring entity to notify designated local government official or other applicable entity within specified timeframe that its license or certification has been revoked or denied; authorizes local government to require sponsoring entity of recovery community to immediately cease operations if continued operation poses immediate & significant threat to health & safety of residents or community; requires local government to respond in writing within specified timeframe to requests regarding whether proposed community residence or recovery residence is within certain spacing distance from certain other residences.
Regulation of Public Swimming Pools and Bathing Places; Providing that, notwithstanding an exemption from supervision or regulation, certain pools are subject to annual inspections by the Department of Health to ensure compliance with specified standards; providing the Public Swimming Pool and Spa Technical Committee with the sole authority to review and approve certain variances; requiring certain department and county health department employees to obtain the Florida Public Pool Specialist Certification within a specified timeframe; deleting a certain advisory review board and replacing it with the Public Swimming Pool and Spa Technical Committee, etc.
Religious Expression in Public Schools; Proposing the creation of a section of the State Constitution to provide protection from discrimination for student and school personnel religious expression in public schools, etc.
Complaints Against Law Enforcement and Correctional Officers; Requires copy of complaint, signed by complainant under oath, to be provided to law enforcement officers & correctional officers who are under investigation before any interrogation begins; provides exception if complaint is accompanied by corroborating evidence; prohibits certain personnel actions from being taken against law enforcement officer or correctional officer unless such officer receives copy of complaint signed by complainant under oath unless certain exception applies; requires certain investigative files to be included in officer's personnel file; prohibits investigation that does not result in imposition of disciplinary action from affecting officer's ability to receive promotion, raise, or any other commendation; requires complaint against law enforcement officer or correctional officer to be in writing & signed under oath by person filing complaint unless certain exception applies; provides penalties for making false complaint.
Gender Identity Employment Practices; Citing this act as the "Freedom of Conscience in the Workplace Act"; specifying an employment policy of this state relating to a person’s sex; providing applicability; prohibiting employees and contractors of certain employers from being required to use certain pronouns or requiring such employers to use a pronoun that does not correspond to the employee’s or contractor’s sex; prohibiting the inclusion on certain forms of specified options relating to an applicant’s sex; providing that it is an unlawful employment practice for certain employers to require certain training, instruction, or activity as a condition of employment, etc.
Pub. Rec./Respiratory Care Interstate Compact; Provides exemptions from public meetings requirements for certain portions of meetings of Respiratory Care Interstate Compact Commission; provides exemption from public records requirements for recordings, minutes, & records generated during exempt portions of such meetings; provides for future legislative review & repeal of exemptions.
Foreign Influence; Citing this act as the “Foreign Interference Restriction and Enforcement Act”; prohibiting preplanned adoption agreements unless certain conditions are met; prohibiting specified persons from soliciting or accepting anything of value from a designated foreign terrorist organization, a foreign country of concern, or persons or entities representing such organizations or countries; authorizing any appropriate tax collector to revoke or refuse to renew business tax receipts of specified individuals, businesses, or entities; prohibiting a governmental entity from knowingly entering into certain contracts with foreign sources of concern; removing the Florida-China Institute from the list of linkage institutes, etc.
Boating Safety; Revises conditions upon which DHSMV must include certain symbol on ID cards & driver licenses; requires DHSMV to issue ID cards & driver licenses that include certain symbol without charging specified fee; requires that ID card & driver license applications indicate whether applicant has obtained FL boating safety ID card &, if so, that copy of card be submitted with application; requires courts to order mandatory placement of ignition interlock devices upon certain vehicles & vessels; provides mandatory minimum term of imprisonment for BUI manslaughter; revises substance abuse education, evaluation, & treatment requirements for certain persons; requires person convicted of certain BUI violations to maintain specified insurance policy; requires that all persons, rather than only persons born on or after specified date, have specified ID in their possession while operating vessel; revises required components of FWCC's boating safety education course & temporary certificate examination; revises & provides various penalties relating to vessels.
Enforcement of School Attendance; Requires district school boards to implement mandatory alert system within specified systems or platforms to notify certain persons when student reaches truancy threshold for absences.
Admissible Evidence in Personal Injury or Wrongful Death Actions; Providing that evidence admissible in personal injury or wrongful death actions may be used for rebutting, as well as for proving, the amount of certain damages; providing that such evidence may be offered by any party, etc.
Relief of Sean Hurley by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office; Providing for an appropriation to compensate Mr. Hurley for injuries sustained as a result of the negligence of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office; providing a limitation on the payment of compensation and attorney fees, etc. CLAIM: Indeterminate
Recognizing Judea and Samaria; Citing this act as the “Recognizing Judea and Samaria Act”; prohibiting state agencies from using the term “West Bank” in official government materials; prohibiting state agencies from using moneys to create official government materials using such term; requiring instructional materials and library media center collections adopted by certain entities on or after a specified date to refer to a certain area as Judea and Samaria, etc.
