Homestead Assessment Limitation; Prohibits assessed value of real property used as homestead by person who has attained certain age from exceeding certain amount if certain conditions are met; requires such persons to apply for homestead in specified manner; requires property appraiser who makes certain determination to serve notice of intent to record tax lien against property; requires property that no longer meets certain eligibility requirements to be reassessed in specified manner.
Mental Health Professionals; Reclassifying intern registrations as associate registrations for the professions of clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, and mental health counseling; deleting the requirement that a licensed mental health professional be present on the premises when registered associates, formerly classified as registered interns, are providing clinical services in a private practice setting, etc.
Retail Sale of Ephedrine and Related Compounds; Defining the terms “administrator of the electronic recordkeeping system” and “covered entity”; providing criminal penalties, etc.
My Safe Florida Home Program; Provides for wind & flood damage mitigation grants under My Safe Florida Home Program; provides requirements for eligibility & application for wind & flood mitigation inspections; requires DFS to contract with wind & flood certification entities to provide mitigation inspections; provides details for maximum state contribution to mitigation grants.
Educational Dollars for Duty Program; Citing this act the “Educational Dollars for Duty Program Expansion Act”; requiring the program to set aside a certain amount of funds to provide tuition assistance to spouses and children of active members of the Florida National Guard; requiring the Department of Military Affairs to oversee implementation and enforcement, etc.
Transportation Concurrency ; Revises facilities required to be identified in capital improvements element of comprehensive plan that imposes transportation concurrency for small counties.
Term Limits for Members of County Commissions and District School Boards; Proposes amendments to Constitution to provide term limits for members of boards of county commissioners & district school boards; provides applicability.
Service Lateral Assessment and Rehabilitation; Requires all utility systems to establish & maintain comprehensive condition assessment program; provides requirements for such program; provides for enforcement & compliance; requires utility systems to annually submit specified reports to DEP; provides for funding.
Residential Property Insurance Policy Cancellations, Nonrenewals, and Rate Changes; Prohibits insurers from canceling or nonrenewing, within certain timeframes, policies covering personal residential or commercial residential properties damaged by hurricanes or wind losses; provides that such prohibition applies to flood damages caused by hurricanes; provides that insurer may not cancel personal residential or commercial residential property insurance policies until certain repairs are made or specified policy renewal expires; prohibits certain claims for loss or damage from being covered under extended or renewed policy.
Community Services for Needy Individuals and Families; Provides goals of Hope Florida; creates Hope Florida Office within EOG; provides duties of office; provides eligibility requirements for Hope Florida participants; specifies that Hope Florida is voluntary; specifies mechanisms by which individuals may receive assistance; requires office to designate state agency to perform certain functions; requires Hope Navigators to be embedded in communities for specified purposes; requires care plans to include certain steps & timelines; specifies duties of Hope Florida partner network; requires specified state agencies to participate in Hope Florida at direction of EOG; requires participating state agencies to use existing resources & personnel, if possible; authorizes other entities to participate in Hope Florida at direction of office.
Pregnancy Support and Wellness Services; Revising contract requirements for the Florida Pregnancy Care Network, Inc.; requiring the Department of Health to conduct annual visits to each organization within the network; providing requirements for the visits, etc.
Specific Medical Diagnoses in Child Protective Investigations; Providing an exception to the requirement that the Department of Children and Families immediately forward certain allegations to a law enforcement agency; requiring Child Protection Teams to consult with a licensed physician or advanced practice registered nurse when evaluating certain reports; authorizing, under a certain circumstance, a parent or legal custodian from whom a child was removed to request specified examinations of the child, etc.
