Child Welfare; Citing this act as the “Child Safety and Custody Compliance Act”; specifying that every Child Protection Team investigator employed by the Department of Children and Families is required to perform all specified duties; requiring the department to verify, and seek up-to-date and accurate records of, the parenting plan or court-ordered custody arrangement, if one exists, as part of every investigation involving parents or guardians who reside in separate households; prohibiting anonymous reports from being afforded the same presumption of good faith as reports made by a person who identifies himself or herself; specifying that schools are responsible for and are required to enforce and adhere to any parenting plan or court order that specifies custody arrangements, etc.
Special Alcoholic Beverage Licenses Issued to Residential Condominiums; Excludes certain residential condominiums that sell alcoholic beverages from limitation of number of specified licenses issued; requires licenses to be issued only to person or corporation that manages food & beverage operations; prohibits licensee from selling certain alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption; prohibits licensee from selling alcoholic beverages after time for serving or consumption of food has elapsed.
Restoration of Voting Rights; Requiring the Florida Commission on Offender Review to develop and maintain a database containing certain information for a certain purpose; requiring certain governmental entities to provide certain information to the commission monthly; requiring the Department of Management Services, acting through the Florida Digital Service, to provide certain technical assistance to the commission; requiring the commission to make the database available to the public on an Internet website by a certain date, etc.
Florida Virtual School; Deleting provisions requiring the Florida Virtual School to give priority to certain students; providing that officers and employees are granted sovereign immunity in addition to the board of trustees; providing that certain expenditures are contingent upon review and approval by the Florida Virtual School president and chief executive officer or authorized designees, rather than the executive director, etc.
Resale-restricted Affordable Housing; Requiring owners of resale-restricted affordable housing to submit a specified application to the property appraiser; requiring that resale-restricted affordable housing be assessed under a specified law; specifying that resale-restricted affordable housing is a land-use regulation and subject to a certain limitation, etc.
Improvements to Structures on Agricultural Lands; Prohibiting assessment of any agricultural improvements used for certain purposes on specified lands, etc.
Carrying Concealed Weapons and Firearms in Courthouses; Revising the list of places into which a person may not carry a handgun or a concealed weapon or concealed firearm to allow judges and magistrates to carry concealed weapons and concealed firearms into any courthouse in the circuit in which they serve in such capacity, etc.
Licensure Requirements for Surveyors and Mappers; Requires Board of Professional Surveyors & Mappers to establish & administer 1st Step Florida Surveyors & Mappers Credentialing & Licensing Protocol as temporary alternative pathway to licensure; provides requirements for eligibility to take surveyor & mapper licensure examination under protocol.
Prohibited Discrimination Based on Hairstyle; Prohibits discrimination based on protected hairstyle in K-20 public education system & specified private schools.
Contracts for Postadoption Contact; Authorizing certain parties to enter into a written contract for postadoption contact which permits contact between an adopted child and his or her birth parent and siblings; requiring that the contract be filed with, approved by, and entered into a certain final judgment by the court under certain circumstances; authorizing and providing requirements for enforcement, modification, or termination of the contract; prohibiting enforcement of the contract in certain circumstances, etc.
This bill redesignates the state's official flagship as the S.S. American Victory. Property Insurance Claims; Establishes mandatory procedure for resolution of disputed insurance claims; removes alternative procedure for resolution of disputed insurance claims; requires insurers, at specified times, to notify policyholders of mandatory procedure; authorizes policyholder to file with Division of Administrative Hearing petition to resolve claims; requires administrative law judge to review petition & dismiss certain petitions; specifies that dismissal of petition or portion of petition is without prejudice & does not require hearing; specifies that homeowner's insurance policy insurer is primary insurer; provides such insurer with right to seek subrogation.
