Victims of Domestic Violence and Dating Violence; Requiring the Division of Telecommunications within the Department of Management Services to consult with certain entities to conduct a feasibility study regarding a specified alert system; providing requirements for such alert system; authorizing victims of dating violence to apply to participate in the Attorney General’s address confidentiality program; requiring the Attorney General to designate certain entities to assist victims of dating violence applying to be address confidentiality program participants, etc.
Internet Crimes Against Children Programs; Renaming the Online Sting Operations Grant Program created within the Department of Law Enforcement as the Internet Crimes Against Children Grant Program; revising the purpose of the grant program; revising the authorized uses for grant program funds; creating the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Funding Program within the Department of Law Enforcement, etc.
Statute of Limitations Period for Violations Involving Required Reports Concerning Children; Providing that the period of limitation for offenses related to specified required reports concerning children does not begin to run until a law enforcement agency is made aware of the violation, etc.
Commercial Driving Schools; Authorizing the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to enter into interagency agreements with tax collectors for a specified purpose; specifying that such an interagency agreement is a delegation of authority of the department to the tax collector; providing that such an interagency agreement may include, but need not be limited to, certain grants of authority, etc.
Health Care Patient Protection; Requires hospital emergency departments to develop & implement policies & procedures, conduct training, record weights in certain manner, designate pediatric emergency care coordinator, & conduct specified assessments; authorizes hospital with emergency department to conduct National Pediatric Readiness Project's Open Assessment under certain conditions; requires agency to adopt certain rules for comprehensive emergency management plans, and, in consultation with Florida Emergency Medical Services for Children State Partnership Program, establish minimum standards for pediatric patient care in hospital emergency departments; requires agency to collect & publish results of specified assessments submitted by hospitals by specified dates; provides requirements for collection & publication of such assessment scores.
Extracurricular Activities; Authorizing district school boards to adopt policies for the use of certain funds to provide funding to specified persons relating to extracurricular activities; revising eligibility requirements for a student to participate in an interscholastic or intrascholastic extracurricular activity; requiring the athletic director or other appropriate administrator to maintain records for all eligible students participating in interscholastic or intrascholastic extracurricular activities at a member school; authorizing a public school to assess an activity fee for certain students; prohibiting a student from participating in interscholastic or intrascholastic extracurricular activities at two different schools within the same school year unless the student meets specified criteria, etc.
Military Affairs; Revising the authorization to be granted a leave of absence for military service to include the Coast Guard; clarifying a provision relating to leaves of absence for all officers and employees of the state and the counties, municipalities, and political subdivisions of the state for reserve or guard training; specifying that an authorization for a leave of absence for all employees of the state and the counties, municipalities, and political subdivisions of the state to perform active military service for a specified timeframe is based on a single order; revising the list of military positions required to participate in the Senior Management Service Class of the Florida Retirement System, etc.
Former Phosphate Mining Lands; Provides conditions for cause of action against certain former phosphate mine sites; authorizes landowners to record certain notice of former phosphate mines; specifies requirements for such notice; requires DOH to conduct gamma radiation surveys of former phosphate land parcels upon petition; requires that specified documentation of radiation levels be submitted in certain civil actions related to phosphate mining.
Infill Redevelopment; Creating the “Infill Redevelopment Act”; requiring that a local government permit qualifying parcels to be developed with residential uses; prohibiting a local government from using the subdivision process to restrict development in a certain manner; requiring developers of such parcels to pay double the parks and recreation facilities impact fees for a certain purpose and provide certain written notice to property owners; prohibiting a local government from adopting or enforcing certain local laws, ordinances, or regulations, etc.
Safety Design Standards for Office Surgery Suites; Requires Florida Building Commission & State Fire Marshal to establish safety design standards for certain office surgical suites by specified date; defines "office surgery suite."
Medical Assistance Eligibility for Working Individuals with Disabilities; Provides definition of term "department"; creates Working People with Disabilities program within AHCA; provides for purpose of program; provides eligibility requirements; provides income & assets requirements for eligibility in program; requires department to provide written notice to eligible adults within specified timeframe; provides requirements for such notice; requires agency to share specified information with department.
Curators of Estates; Revising the requirements for a court to appoint a curator of estates; revising bond requirements for a curator of estates; clarifying who may subject a curator of estates to removal and surcharge; requiring a curator to file reports with the court in specified circumstances; requiring that certain details be included in such reports; requiring the court to review such reports; authorizing the court to require more frequent reporting or additional documents under certain circumstances, etc.
