HB 1157: Department of Human Services Supplemental

The 2025 general appropriations act is amended to balance and make adjustments to the total amount appropriated to the department of human services. HB 1153: Department of Education Supplemental

The 2025 general appropriations act is amended to balance and make adjustments to the total amount appropriated to the department of education. The general fund portion of the appropriation is decreased, and the cash funds, reappropriated funds, and federal funds portions are increased.     Amends House Bill 25-1278, concerning modifications to the statewide education accountability system, to further appropriate the amount appropriated to the department to implement the act to the 2026-27 fiscal year.     Amends Senate Bill 25-214, concerning reimbursements for eligible meals provided through the healthy school meals for all program, to transfer the appropriation for the healthy school meals for all program from the cash funds to a fund created in the healthy school meals for all program statute. HB 1291: Educator Performance Evaluations

Under current law, a local board of education's (local board) or board of cooperative services' (BOCES) licensed personnel employment performance system must ensure that nonprobationary teachers receive one evaluation resulting in a written evaluation report in each academic year.The bill requires that nonprobationary teachers receive one evaluation resulting in a written evaluation report at least once every 3 academic years; except that, if a nonprobationary teacher receives a less than effective rating, the local board or BOCES may require that the nonprobationary teacher receive one evaluation that results in a written evaluation report in the next academic year.(Note: This summary applies to this bill as introduced.)

SB 123: Prohibit Ventilation Shutdown for Poultry

Under current law, poultry owners may be required to destroy or depopulate their entire flock of poultry when one of their birds tests positive for a disease. Effective July 1, 2029, the bill prohibits an owner of poultry from using ventilation shutdown and ventilation shutdown plus, which methods kill poultry by gradually inducing fatal hyperthermia or heat stroke, as methods of depopulating their poultry.(Note: This summary applies to this bill as introduced.)
