Strongly condemning the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris's, failure to secure the United States border.
What changed between versions
The first Whereas clause was reworded to state that Harris was 'tasked with working to address illegal immigration' and that the title 'border czar' was 'colloquial,' rather than stating she was officially appointed as border czar in charge of specific duties.
The ISIS-related allegation was substantially revised: the original claimed over 50 individuals with ties to ISIS were 'on the loose' after being 'released by the Biden administration.' The engrossed version states that over 400 entered via an 'ISIS-affiliated smuggling network' and only over 50 had unknown whereabouts, a more specific and measured claim.
A new Whereas clause was added stating that 'under Border Czar Harris's leadership, multiple illegal aliens with terrorist ties have been released into the United States.'
The clause stating that over 350 individuals on the terrorist watch list were stopped trying to cross the southern border was removed entirely.
The parole program allegation was revised: the date changed from May 2024 to April 2024, the word 'secretly' was removed, 'over 400,000' became 'at least 400,000,' and the phrase 'through the abuse of parole programs' was added to specify the mechanism.
The phrase 'Communist Chinese nationals' was changed to simply 'Chinese nationals,' removing the political descriptor.
The resolution date changed from July 22, 2024 to July 25, 2024.
