Educational equity: discrimination prevention coordinators.

Section 33802.1(b) was rewritten. The old version stated that coordinators' roles and responsibilities 'shall not be limited to their specific title or discrimination subject to allow for flexibility in their roles,' giving them open-ended authority to act beyond their designated area. The new version instead states that coordinators 'may collaborate with one another, within the purview of their roles and responsibilities, on issues of discrimination that involve the intersectionality of protected characteristics.' This narrows the scope from unlimited cross-domain flexibility to a specific collaboration mechanism focused on intersectional discrimination.

A new subsection was added to Section 33802.1 allowing the discrimination prevention coordinators to collaborate with one another, within the purview of their roles, on issues of discrimination that involve the intersectionality of protected characteristics listed in Section 220.
