Removed amendment history dates (Amended in Assembly August 20, 2026; Amended in Assembly June 11, 2026; Amended in Senate March 23, 2026) and replaced with passage dates: Passed the Senate August 27, 2026 and Passed the Assembly August 26, 2026.

Added signature blocks for the Secretary of the Senate, Chief Clerk of the Assembly, Private Secretary of the Governor, and a blank approval date line for the Governor.

Removed all line numbers (line 1, line 2, etc.) from the bill text and reformatted page headers and footers to match the enrolled version layout.

Removed three stray section reference lines that were drafting errors: a duplicate 'SECTION 1.' label between the findings and Section 2, a duplicate 'SEC. 2.' label between Sections 2 and 3, and a duplicate 'SEC. 3.' label between Sections 3 and 4.

Corrected a typo in Section 1(b) legislative findings: changed 'have their person information deleted' to 'have their person personal information deleted' (still slightly awkward but an attempt to fix the original missing word).

A new Section 1 adds legislative findings declaring that the right to delete under Section 1798.105 applies to all personal information about a consumer regardless of whether it was collected from the consumer or from third parties, explicitly identifying and closing what the Legislature calls a 'gap in protection.'

The findings section also declares that businesses retain existing authority to maintain certain personal information to comply with legal obligations or to resist malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity when retention is reasonably necessary and proportionate.

Existing sections were renumbered: the amendment to Section 1798.105 moved from Section 1 to Section 2, the amendment to Section 1798.130 moved from Section 2 to Section 3, and the CPRA findings declaration moved from Section 3 to Section 4.

Fixed a typo in Section 1798.105(a) where 'collected from from or about the consumer' was corrected to 'collected from or about the consumer'

Removed two empty placeholder paragraphs (an empty '(2)' and a duplicate empty '(3)') from Section 1798.105(c), which cleaned up the subsection numbering so that the confidential record provision is paragraph (3) and the service provider cooperation provision is paragraph (4)

Page numbers throughout the bill shifted from 99 to 98 as a result of removing the empty paragraphs, causing re-pagination of all subsequent pages
