Pupil health: emergency stock albuterol inhalers.

Subdivision (g)(3) now allows prescriptions for emergency stock albuterol inhalers to be filled by stock albuterol wholesalers or distributers, in addition to local or mail-order pharmacies and manufacturers. This broadens the supply chain options available to schools.

All references to the 'Superintendent of Public Instruction' in subdivision (e) were replaced with 'Education Commissioner' to implement changes made by AB 181 of the 2025-26 Regular Session. This is a conforming title change, not a policy change.

A new Section 3 was added stating that the replacement of 'Superintendent of Public Instruction' with 'Education Commissioner' is intended to implement Section 24 of Chapter 66 of the Statutes of 2026 and does not require the Education Commissioner to establish new minimum training standards.

Extends civil liability protection in subdivision (j)(1) to any childcare program operated by or under contract with a local educational agency, and extends defense and indemnification in subdivision (j)(2) to employees of childcare programs.

Minor technical fixes including changing 'mail order' to 'mail-order,' simplifying the stock albuterol inhaler definition to reference 'an MDI' instead of repeating the full term, and updating line numbering throughout.
