Section 51229.5 was entirely removed. This section would have required all school districts and charter schools maintaining grades 9-12 to provide written notice of advanced academic programs (AP, IB, honors, dual enrollment, etc.) by October 1 each year, with specific content requirements including program lists, benefits explanations, enrollment prerequisites, support information, and fee waiver details.

The bill's scope was significantly narrowed from two major components (CCGI notice addition plus a comprehensive advanced academic programs notification system) to a single component (adding CCGI information to existing annual notices). The legislative counsel digest was correspondingly shortened to describe only the remaining change.

Removed the requirement that each pupil receive at least one direct communication (such as a counseling session or homeroom presentation) about advanced academic programs in addition to written notice.

Removed the requirement that schools hold at least one annual informational session for parents and guardians about advanced academic program options and enrollment processes, with reasonable efforts to notify all families of the date, time, and location.

Removed the requirement that notices be provided in the five most spoken languages in the school district to ensure access for limited-English-proficient families.

Removed the requirement that the Superintendent of Public Instruction issue implementation guidelines, which could include sample notice templates and best practices for encouraging participation by underrepresented pupils.
