Music therapy.
Summary
Existing law prohibits a person who provides music therapy from using the title of "Board Certified Music Therapist" unless the person has completed specified education and clinical training requirements. Existing law defines "music therapy" as the clinical and evidence-based use of music therapy interventions in developmental, rehabilitative, habilitative, medical, mental health, preventive, wellness care, or educational settings to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals within a therapeutic relationship, and specifies activities that music therapy includes. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that definition.
