Wages: multiple employers.
Summary
Under existing law, when workers are engaged in employment that normally involves working for several employers in the same industry, those employers may cooperate to establish a plan for the payment of wages at a central place or places in accordance with certain procedures. Existing law provides that these provisions do not apply to a plan until 10 days after the employers who cooperate to establish the plan have given notice to the Labor Commissioner of their intention to set up such a plan. This bill would instead provide that these provisions do not apply until 5 business days after the above-described employers have given notice to the Labor Commissioner of their intention, as specified. The bill would also make nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.
