Carpenter-Presley-Tanner Hazardous Substance Account Act: conforming revisions.

Existing law establishes the California Law Revision Commission. Existing law authorizes the commission to recommend changes in the law as it deems necessary to modify or eliminate antiquated and inequitable rules of law and bring the law into harmony with modern conditions. Existing law requires the commission to file a report at each regular session of the Legislature containing a calendar of topics selected by the commission for study, which is subject to approval by concurrent resolution of the Legislature. Existing law authorizes the commission to recommend revisions to correct technical or minor defects in the statutes without the prior concurrent resolution of the Legislature referring the matter to it for study. A concurrent resolution adopted by the Legislature requests the commission to recommend revisions to the Carpenter-Presley-Tanner Hazardous Substance Account Act to improve the organization and expression of law. Pursuant to this request, the commission has made recommendations for the recodification of that act. This bill would make conforming changes to provisions of law that references the act or provisions in the act. The bill would become operative on January 1, 2024, if the act providing for the recodification of the Carpenter-Presley-Tanner Hazardous Substance Account Act becomes operative on January 1, 2024.
