AB 1518 California Assembly · 2021-2022 Regular Session

Health care service plan licensing.

Summary
Existing law, the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975, provides for the licensure and regulation of health care service plans by the Department of Managed Health Care. Existing law exempts a health care service plan from required licensure if it provides only emergency ambulance services or advanced life support services, or both, and is operated by a state or local governmental entity. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.
