Horse racing: wagering.
Summary
Existing law, the Horse Racing Law, directs the California Horse Racing Board to adopt rules governing, permitting, and regulating parimutuel wagering on horse races. Existing law provides that a person within the inclosure where a horse racing meeting is authorized may wager on the result of a horse race held at that meeting, as specified. Existing law states that wagering in this way is not unlawful, notwithstanding any other California law. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision.
