Vehicles: speed limits.
Summary
Existing law prohibits driving certain vehicles, including a schoolbus transporting school pupils or a vehicle transporting explosives, upon a highway at a speed in excess of 55 miles per hour. Existing law imposes specified other restrictions on those vehicles, including a requirement that those vehicles be driven at a distance of not less than 300 feet to the rear of any other of those vehicles preceding them when being driven outside of a business or residential district. This bill would remove the prohibition on driving those vehicles at a speed in excess of 55 miles per hour and would make other conforming changes.
