Public Utilities Commission: reports.
Summary
Under existing law, the Public Utilities Commission has regulatory authority over public utilities, including electrical corporations and gas corporations. Existing law requires the commission to annually prepare a written report on the costs of programs and activities conducted by certain electrical corporations and gas corporations. Existing law requires the report to identify specified information including each program mandated by statute or by the commission and its annual cost to ratepayers. Existing law requires the commission, before the commencement of certain meetings, to make copies of a meeting agenda available to the public. This bill would require the report to also identify the average cost to gas corporation or electrical corporation ratepayers, provided separately for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial ratepayers, per therm or per kilowatthour, as applicable, of each program mandated by statute during the preceding year and over the lifetime of the program, and would require that information to be included as an attachment to the agenda for each commission meeting.
