AB 1190 California Assembly · 2017-2018 Regular Session

Department of Consumer Affairs: BreEZe system.

Summary
Existing law authorizes the Department of Consumer Affairs to enter into a contract with a vendor for the licensing and enforcement of the BreEZe system, which is a specified integrated, enterprisewide enforcement case management and licensing system, no sooner than 30 days after written notification to certain committees of the Legislature. Existing law requires the amount of contract funds for the system to be consistent with costs approved by the Department of Technology, formerly known as the office of the State Chief Information Officer, based on information provided by the department in a specified manner. This bill would require the Department of Consumer Affairs to publish, a minimum of once quarterly, prescribed information relating to BreEZe on its Internet Web site, including the estimated start and completion date of the Department of Technology's Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) process for programs that were previously scheduled for the 3rd release of BreEZe, the status of programs that have started the process, and the results and recommendations made for each program that has completed the PAL process. The bill would also delete an obsolete provision relating to budget augmentation for BreEZe project costs.
